Aon Appoints Andersen and O’Connor as Co-Presidents

Aon in May 2018 announced that Eric Andersen, CEO of Aon Benfield, and Michael O’Connor, CEO of Aon Risk Solutions, have been appointed Co-Presidents of the firm; they will continue to report to CEO Greg Case.

Aon also announced it will create an integrated global Operating Committee, co-led by Andersen and O’Connor.

More Changes

Further changes at Aon include the introduction of a single P&L structure “to increase colleague connectivity and accelerate reinvestment in innovation that serves clients” as well as additional responsibilities for other top executives.

Cary Grace, CEO of Retirement Solutions, will now also be responsible for Global M&A Integration, perhaps heralding accelerated external growth in the future.

John Zern, CEO of Health Solutions, also becomes CEO of North America for Commercial Risk Solutions, underlining the convergence of employee benefits and P/C risk management in the U.S. market where medical self-insurance and medical captives are well-developed among larger corporations.

Chief Operations Officer (COO) John Bruno is to take on the added role of CEO, Data & Analytic Services. CEO Greg Case, CFO Christa Davies, and COO Bruno are to work together “to enhance [Aon’s] current offerings and accelerate the commercialization of new data-driven, content solutions.”
