Gallagher in February 2021 announced that Dieter Gistelinck had joined as Managing Consultant, in the Multinational Benefits & HR Consulting practice in Gallagher’s Benefits and HR Consulting Division. Gistelinck will be based in Brussels, Belgium.

In his new role at Gallagher, Gistelinck will be responsible for developing the Gallagher Global Workforce Strategy consulting portfolio in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. This is achieved through understanding clients’ global business and implementing the Multinational Benefits & HR Consulting practice’s comprehensive approach to benefits, compensation, retirement, employee communication and workplace culture.

Dieter brings more than 20 years of experience, most recently working with Willis Towers Watson (WTW) where he led sales and development of the Global Benefits Management (GBM) value proposition and expansion of GBM appointments with large, complex multinationals in EMEA.

He began his career as a Consular Executive at the Embassy of Belgium in Helsinki, Finland; then joined the ING Global Benefits Network, a pooling network, as a Senior Account Manager; later moved to John Hancock International Services (IGP) as a Senior Account Executive; then joined broker Willis in their Multinational Benefits Practice as VP and European Regional Manager; from which he joined a third multinational pooling network, Insurope, as Director in charge the EMEA region.

“The hiring of Dieter is a major statement for our plan to put us more robustly on the map in Europe.” LeAnne Stefl

Dieter studied at Heilig Hartcollege, Belgium; the Universidad de Málaga, Spain; and the University of Helsinki, Finland.

“Having Dieter join Gallagher is a powerful move for our Multinational Practice strategy in the international region” says Leslie Lemenager, International President of the Benefits & HR Consulting Division of Gallagher. “The hiring of Dieter is a major statement for our plan to put us more robustly on the map in Europe. […] it will allow us to work across EMEA and build upon our UK presence […]” says LeAnne Stefl, Practice Leader for Multinational Benefits & HR Consulting at Gallagher.

“I look forward to applying my years of international perspective and diplomatic approach to cross-country business development and to develop and implement sustainable global benefits portfolio design and financing solutions for our Gallagher clients in the region.  To be on the ground floor as we build Gallagher’s Multinational
strategy allows us to address the challenges of a rapidly changing future of work environment for our clients’ global workforce. I am very keen to add my experience to expedite our growth across EMEA and look forward to forming successful and sustainable partnerships,” said Gistelinck.
