Generali in September 2019 implemented a new organization for its Generali Country Italy and Global Business Lines division. The business unit includes multinational pooling network Generali Employee Benefits (GEB) and Generali Global Health (GGH).

The full press release is available here.

Marco Sesana, Country Manager & CEO of Generali Italia and Global Business Lines, intends to focus on international corporate business development with a “new, faster and more agile organizational structure”, as part of the group’s “Strategy 2021 – Life Time Partner”.

Paolo Ribotta leads GEB, including GGH. His stated goal is “to further strengthen Generali’s market leadership in employee benefits for multinational companies, and to develop the health business for people with high international mobility.”

The new structure includes the creation of transversal functions: finance (Giancarlo Fancel), legal and compliance (Cristina Rustignoli), human resources (Gianluca Perin), and communications and social responsibility (Lucia Sciacca). Focusing on the international corporate business, a further Strategy & Business Development function has been created and is led by former GEB CEO Sergio Di Caro.

Generali’s other businesses that are relevant to employee benefits, i.e. Europ Assistance (known in some markets as Generali Global Assistance – GGA) and Generali Global Pensions, are not affected by the reorganization and remain under the leadership of Generali France CEO Jean-Laurent Granier.

The new organizational structure is effective September 1st, 2019.
