Zurich Insurance in March 2021 launched a new global risk management business unit called Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS). It will be led by Hanno Mijer, reporting to Sierra Signorelli, CEO, commercial insurance at Zurich.

Initially focusing on property/casualty (P/C) risks, ZRS includes more than 750 risk engineers to deliver risk prevention and mitigation services, complementing traditional insurance products such as employers’ liability, construction, motor fleet, general liability, and property. Available services include Climate Change Resilience Services, Zurich Cyber Security Services and Supply Chain Risk Management Services. Going forward, Zurich will continue to focus on building new capabilities and invest in further expertise, as well as proprietary services and external partnerships.

Before his appointment at Cover-More, Mijer was Zurich’s Global Head of Corporate Life and Pensions (CLP), which includes Zurich’s multinational pooling network, Zurich Global Employee Benefits Solutions (ZGEBS). He began his career with AEGON Insurance in the Netherlands, Eastern Europe, and Asia, where he held several marketing, sales, and executive positions, including Head of Business Development Asia and SVP Marketing & Sales of its Dutch Corporate Life & Pensions division. He then joined Watson Wyatt’s Insurance practice as head of global marketing and sales.
