Kristof Terryn appointed Chief Operating Officer at Zurich

As part of Zurich’s wider corporate reorganization, Kristof Terryn has been promoted in June 2016 to Chief Operating Officer (COO). The newly created position of COO includes operations, IT, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, actuarial and pricing. Terryn had been appointed head of Zurich’s non-life business as recently as September 2015, after three years as the head of its life operations.

A 48 year old Belgian, Kristof Terryn is a member of Zurich’s Group Executive Committee since 2010. He has held a number of senior executive positions, mostly in Operations, including Group Head of Operations, COO for the General Insurance business, and COO of Global Corporate. Prior to joining Zurich in 2004, he worked in capital markets and later as a management consultant in McKinsey’s financial services practice. He holds a law degree and a degree in economics from the University of Leuven, Belgium, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
