Paul Murray Head of Life and Health for Swiss Re

Swiss Re in December 2018 appointed Paul Murray as Global Head of Life and Health, based in London, UK.
He succeeds Swiss Re’s CEO of reinsurance for the EMEA region, Russell Higginbotham.

Murray previously was global chief pricing officer for the L&H business; head of Swiss Re’s global L&H Products Center; managing director, Life & Health Products, Asia; managing director, Life & Health Products, UK, Ireland and Africa; director, head of marketing actuarial in the UK; and marketing actuary in London, UK.
He began his career as a manager with Ernst & Young; actuarial analyst with Old Mutual in Cape Town, South Africa; actuarial analyst with Scottish Equitable; and actuarial trainee with Scottish Amicable in Edinburgh, Scotland.

He holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Mathematics from the University of Glasgow, and a Diploma in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Paul is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries.
