Generali Global Assistance (GGA) in September 2018 appointed Philippe Gervais as President of GGA’s Travel Insurance company. Gervais, located at the Travel Insurance headquarters in San Diego, California, reports to Chris Carnicelli, CEO of GGA North America, who oversees the travel insurance and assistance, identity theft protection, and medical risk management business lines.
Prior to joining GGA, he was CEO of Europ Assistance Belgium. Generali operates its assistance businesses under two brands: GGA in North America and Europ Assistance in most other markets. Gervais started with Europ Assistance in 2003 as Director of Strategy and Acquisitions, where he helped bring CSA Travel Protection and GMMI into the GGA USA group of companies.
He began his career in 1992 as a product and sales manager at Nestlé. In 1995, he joined Price Waterhouse Coopers as a consultant and then manager in charge of international missions of sales strategies in retail and telecommunications. In 2010, he was named CEO of Océalis and President of Europ Téléassistance in charge of the French business unit. In 2014, he became CEO of Europ Assistance Belgium.
Gervais has also served as the Secretary General of Afrata, a French association for remote assistance and holds a degree in finance and entrepreneurship from ESSEC Business School in France.
