Todd R. Miller in May 2017 was appointed as CEO of Risk International, a U.S.-based risk and benefits management firm, effective July 1. Miller has served as the company’s president since 2016 and will continue in this role. He replaces Michael Davis, who has been the company’s CEO since 2009  and remains with the company as its vice chairman, largely focused on business development.

Miller joined the company in 2015 as chief growth officer and executive vice president. According to David O’Brien, chairman of Risk International, the company is currently adapting its risk management services designed for large Fortune 500 companies for the middle market. Miller has specific experience in the middle market, as well as in benefits consulting – both two recent focus areas for Risk International. The company recently has expanded its footprint in the private equity market and is marketing its newer services in the areas of benefits management and actuarial services to middle market companies.

A double alumnus of Miami University (B.A. and M.A. in Education), Miller was recognized as Risk & Insurance Power Broker in 2013 for his expertise in integrated healthcare strategies, total cost of risk, healthcare reform, and alternative healthcare funding strategies.

Miller joined Risk International in 2015 as chief growth officer and executive vice president. Previously he held various leadership positions for more than 15 years at Oswald Companies, an independent, employee-owned U.S. insurance brokerage firm that is also a member of Assurex Global. He began his career as a football coach (American football, that is) and later as a group sales executive for Sun Life.

Risk International had a record year of growth in 2016 and anticipates even larger gains in 2017, particularly in benefits advisory and actuarial services. The company has its headquarters in the U.S. state of Ohio, with two other U.S. offices in Charleston and Charlotte. Its European branch is based in London and it has offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
