Three Sales Appointments at MAXIS GBN

Multinational pooling network MAXIS GBN, an AXA-MetLife joint venture, in May 2018 announced three appointments in its distribution department, all promotions of MAXIS team members.

David Schupak
Head Distribution for Western Europe, UK, Middle East & Africa, MAXIS GBN

David Schupak to head Western Europe as well as the UK, Middle East & Africa

David Schupak adds Western Europe to his current role leading the UK, Middle East & African region, reporting to Head of Distribution Andrew Stocker. In other words, his area of responsibility covers EMEA less Northern and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE).

David has worked in global benefits since 1998, having started with AIG in New York and Peru. He worked throughout Latin America and Europe and has been based in London for the last nine years.

He holds an M.A. in International Relations and in International Economics from The Johns Hopkins University – Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

 

Lilia Goauar
Regional Manager Western Europe, MAXIS GBN

Lilia Gaouar promoted to Regional Manager for Western Europe

Lilia Gaouar will report to David Schupak as the Regional Manager for Western Europe, managing the business development team; she will be based in Paris.

Lilia joined MAXIS in 2014 as a global underwriter specializing in Middle East and Mediterranean markets. Since 2017, Lilia has had responsibility for sales and business development in the Middle East and the non-French speaking countries in Africa. Prior to MAXIS, she was a yacht underwriter with Generali in Paris and a marine underwriter with AIG in Italy.

She holds a B.A. in Finance from the University of Algiers, Algeria; and an M.A. in International Logistics from Panthéon Sorbonne University in Paris I.
 

 

Sonia Rekik
Regional Manager Middle East and Africa, MAXIS GBN

Sonia Rekik to take on Middle East and Africa

As a result of Lilia’s promotion, Sonia Rekik now is in charge of Middle East and Africa, based in Paris.

Sonia has over 16 years’ experience in international health insurance markets such as Africa, Middle East and Europe. Prior to joining MAXIS, she worked in global mobility at French broker/consultant Henner, lastly as regional manager.

She holds an M.A. in history and geography from Sorbonne University in Paris.

 

 

 

No change in Northern, Central and Eastern Europe; Asia-Pacific; Americas

The MAXIS business development leadership team also includes Thomas Lienert for the NORCEE region, Juliet Kwek in Asia-Pacific, and Ricardo Almeida covering the Americas. Their areas of responsibility are not changed. Germany, Switzerland and Austria (also known as the DACH region) all sit in the NORCEE region.
