WTW promotes Kisha Tyrrell to lead its Bermuda captive practice

In November 2026, WTW announced the promotion of Kisha Tyrrell to lead its Captive and Insurance Management Solutions business in Bermuda. She previously was the Bermuda head of underwriting and claims.

Confirm who owns the work

A handover is a good time to check who is responsible for reporting, claims queries, reconciliations and escalation. Confirm whether contact routes, signing authority or access to documents have changed, and establish whom to call when a deadline or payment is at risk.

A captive that reinsures employee benefits depends on information from local insurers, network partners, administrators and HR. The board needs to know who supplies premium and claims data, who reconciles it and which material differences are reported. Tracing one recent exception can show whether those arrangements work across borders and time zones.

Keep the board’s role clear

Independent non-executive directors should verify that delegated tasks have named owners and backups, and test how management would escalate a delayed report before accounts close. The purpose is to check oversight while keeping operational responsibility with the people delivering the service. Evaluate timeliness, accuracy and responsiveness separately from the portfolio’s financial performance.

For a captive board or prospective client, the useful outcome is a clear record of who does what, what the mandate covers and how unresolved issues reach the people who can act.
