MAXIS Global Benefits Network (MAXIS GBN [1]) in May 2020 announced that AXA COLPATRIA [2] had joined the London-based global employee benefits network.
AXA COLPATRIA provides medical coverage in Colombia as prepaid and health insurance. It is headed by Bernardo Rafael Serrano López, General Director and CEO. The company claims to be the sixth largest carrier in the Colombian PHI sector (pre-hospital and insurance) with a 6% market share and 220,000 customers.
According to the company, insured plans are poolable and re-insurable; pre-paid medicine plans are not. Enrolment and claims are handled in-house by AXA COLPATRIA, as opposed to a third-party administrator (TPA). Group medical plans are underwritten using a combination of the local account’s own experience and AXA COLPATRIA’s current portfolio results.
