Jim is responsible for the executive management and leadership of EPIC’s operations in the Southwestern United States. Jim is also a member of EPIC’s Operating Committee.

With over 30 years of experience in the design, communication, administration and funding of employee benefit plans for startups to Fortune 1000s, Jim is well versed in the many facets of human resources. His expertise in ERISA and regulatory compliance, retirement and post-employment benefits, employee communications and plan administration has allowed him to create strategy and consult on group health and welfare plans, self-funded and VEBA trust funded plans and other managed care health arrangements.

He regularly speaks at national and local energy, human resources and executive leadership events and conferences and is frequently quoted in the Houston Chronicle, Houston Business Journal, Business Insurance and Market News.

Prior to joining EPIC, Jim served as the founder, CEO and Chief Client Officer for Ascende, Inc., an employee benefits consulting firm he founded in 1994.

Jim is a graduate of the Boston University School of Management, where he received a Bachelor of Science in business administration.
