AXA Health International Launches Private Medical Coverage in Tanzania
AXA Health International in March 2026 announced it had partnered with Alliance Insurance Corporation Limited and MIC Global Risks to launch its Global Executive Health Plan in Tanzania, marking a strategic expansion across Africa’s growing markets.
The collaboration positions AXA as the international healthcare administrator and global network provider, while MIC Global Risks serves as exclusive distributor and Alliance Insurance acts as the licensed local insurer. This structure ensures regulatory compliance while delivering premium international medical coverage to businesses, expatriates and mobile professionals.
The move builds on AXA’s October 2025 partnership with Executive Healthcare Solutions, which established distribution frameworks across Kenya and multiple African markets. Tanzania’s role as an investment and trade hub is driving demand for cross-border healthcare access, particularly for specialized treatments unavailable locally.
The Global Executive Health Plan focuses specifically on international private medical insurance rather than domestic coverage, providing access to recognized hospitals globally plus services like medical evacuation and coordinated cross-border care.
As Tanzania’s economy becomes increasingly integrated with regional and global markets, international healthcare protection will likely become a key competitive advantage for companies seeking to attract and retain internationally mobile talent.
