Laurent Nihoul Named IFRIMA Vice-President
Laurent Nihoul, CEO of the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA), in March 2026 was appointed vice-president of the International Federation of Risk and Insurance Management Associations (Ifrima).
Nihoul, who assumed the FERMA CEO role from Typhaine Beaupérin last year, brings nearly three decades of experience spanning insurance, reinsurance, enterprise risk management, underwriting and risk financing. He succeeds former FERMA president Charlotte Hedemark Hancke in the IFRIMA vice-president position, while Franck Baron continues as the organization’s leader.
The international federation praised Nihoul’s “deep industry expertise, strategic vision and longstanding commitment to advancing the risk profession,” positioning him to guide IFRIMA’s continued expansion and global influence. The organization emphasized his demonstrated advocacy for the risk management community at both European and international levels during his tenure at FERMA.
This appointment strengthens the collaboration between Ifrima and its member associations worldwide, signaling increased coordination in global risk management standards and practices.
