Potter’s promotion to this pivotal role comes at a time when Mercer is expanding its horizons, most notably with the planned acquisition of the Vanguard Group’s Institutional Advisory Services business focusing on nonprofit organizations, announced in December 2023. Her appointment is a testament to her extensive experience and deep understanding of Mercer’s offerings and client needs.

Prior to joining Mercer, Potter had an illustrious 25-year career at Willis Towers Watson (WTW), where she honed her skills and expertise in the financial services sector. Her leadership qualities and strong commercial acumen have been highly regarded by her colleagues and industry peers.

In her new role, Potter will report to Pat Tomlinson, her predecessor, who is now the President of Mercer and CEO of Marsh McLennan U.S. and Canada. Tomlinson, praising Potter’s appointment, highlighted her exceptional leadership and profound understanding of Mercer’s solutions and their impact on addressing complex client challenges.

This leadership change aligns with Mercer’s ongoing strategy to adapt and thrive in the ever-evolving financial services landscape, ensuring the company remains well-positioned to meet the needs of its clients and colleagues.

Potter’s appointment is a significant step for Mercer, as the company continues to drive growth and innovation under the stewardship of experienced and dynamic leaders.
