Manulife Financial Corporation in March 2017 announced that it has appointed Roy Gori as President, reporting to CEO Donald Guloien.  Gori was previously Executive Vice President and General Manager of Manulife’s Asia Division.

Gori has been with Manulife since March 2015, when he took on responsibility for Manulife’s operations in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. The Asian division accounts for about one-third of Manulife’s overall earnings. Gori will now have responsibility for Manulife’s global operating business, and will assume leadership of Manulife’s Canadian, U.S., and investment operations in addition to Asia.

Gori, who holds a degree in Economics and Finance from The University of New South Wales, and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Technology in Sydney, comes to Manulife from Citibank, N.A., where he started in 1997 as Asia Pacific Regional Head of Financial Data Warehousing for Citibank Singapore and rose through the ranks to ultimately become Regional Head of Retail Banking, Asia Pacific, before joining Manulife Asia.
