WBN Elects Three New Board Members
The Worldwide Broker Network (WBN) in April 2018 announced the election of three Board members, Susan Murphy from Canada, Matteo Scagliarini from Italy, and Markham McKnight from the U.S.A.
Susan Murphy is President & CEO of Totten Insurance Group of Canada (a Hub International owned company), a national managing general agent focusing on niche and specialty products. She is a member of the WBN US and Canada Steering Committee.
Prior to moving to Totten Group, she was Chief Marketing Officer for Hub Canada and has held executive leadership positions with CNA Canada, GCAN Insurance and RSA. She is a graduate of Harvard Business School and DePaul University’s Executive Leadership Program. She has written and contributed to many industry articles. Together with other Hub senior executives, she created the Hub Women of Action network.
Matteo Scagliarini is CEO of Andrea Scagliarini SpA, Bologna, Italy, and a member of the WBN European Steering Committee and of the Italian Brokers Association (AIBA) Board.
Matteo graduated from Bologna University with a degree in Economics cum laude.
Markham McKnight, President and CEO, BXS Insurance (formerly BancorpSouth Insurance Services) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was re-elected to serve an additional term as a WBN Board member. McKnight served as WBN’s Board Chairman from 2014 to 2016.
Prior to his current position, he was the President of insurance brokerage firm, Wright & Percy Insurance. McKnight oversaw BancorpSouth’s acquisition of the firm in 2003.
Markham is also past chairman of The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB) and serves as chairman of CIAB’s charitable educational organization, the Council Foundation. He sits on the board of the Institutes, the leading provider of risk management and property-casualty insurance education, is a member of the World Presidents Organization (WPO), and a member of the Chief Executives Organization (CEO). In addition, he is a board member and treasurer of the Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association, a position that the Louisiana Insurance Commissioner appoints.
Markham received his bachelor’s degree and MBA from Louisiana State University.
