Willis Towers Watson (WTW) in October 2017 announced that it has appointed Neil B. J. Irwin as the new leader of the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (CEEMEA) region, reporting to Adam Garrard, WTW’s head of International. Irwin will also act as head of Corporate Risk and Broking for CEEMEA.

The CEEMEA is a diverse and high-growth region with around 2,300 WTW employees in more than 40 countries. Irwin’s appointment is described as “key to driving the company’s growth strategy around risk and broking in that high-potential region”.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in the industry, much of it in the CEEMEA region, where he has worked since 2009. He has led business development for EMEA and India at Marsh, and was Managing Director for Marsh’s operations in the Middle East and Africa from 2013 to 2016. Irwin was most recently with Cigna, where he led global distribution, working between Dubai and the US. He has managed complex businesses across different cultures and commercial environments at Willis Towers Watson.

Irwin holds a degree in Cost and Management Accounting from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, as well as a degree in Risk Management and Insurance from Glasgow Caledonian University.
