WPA and Transatlantic Conference, 27-29 May 2020, Brussels, Belgium

The European Association of Paritarian Institutions (AEIP) announces the 12th edition of the Transatlantic & World Pension Alliance Conference. The event will take place from 27 to 29 May 2020 in Brussels, Belgium.

Moderated by GBV magazine, the conference is organized by AEIP in cooperation with the U.S. National Coordinating Committee for Multiemployer Plans (NCCMP), the Multi-employer Benefit Plan Council of Canada (MEBCO), and the World Pension Alliance, currently chaired by the U.S. National Conference On Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS) for the day devoted to pensions.

Taking place annually since 2008, the global Transatlantic & World Pension Alliance Conference focuses on global trends in healthcare, pensions and social dialogue in each of its three thematic days.

In 2020, the organizers have included the following topics :

  • 27 May: focus on global trends in healthcare and topics such as: the future of healthcare in the context of an ageing society, access to healthcare and optimal coverage for citizens, raising cost of healthcare and price of medicine, digital transformation of healthcare, data management & data protection.
  • 28 May: a day dedicated to pensions: global pension funds challenges (low-interest rates, governance practices, shift DB & DC, solvency), ESG criteria in investment decisions of pension funds, expansion of coverage in occupational pensions, digitization and new trends in communication in pensions.
  • 29 May: the last half-day is dedicated to discussing different policy approaches for effective engagement of social partners (trade unions and employer organizations) in collective bargaining / social dialogue, including a sector perspective on current labor market dynamics.

The event brings together leading experts in pension and health benefits, as well as Trustees and plan professionals, policy makers and academia from Europe and North America to share their knowledge and expertise.
