Mike Tyler appointed Head of Lockton International Benefits
Mike Tyler has in November 2016 been appointed Head of Lockton International Benefits and will also become Chair of the Global Benefits Leadership Group, which oversees the expansion of benefits capabilities around the globe.
Tyler’s appointment does not change Lockton’s corporate structures, and senior reporting lines also remain unchanged. The new role will facilitate global co-ordination of initiatives and oversee new investments.
Lockton’s benefits practice represents 30% of its global revenues and has continued to enjoy consistent double digit growth over the last decade. Anticipating an ever increasing requirement from clients for support in multiple countries, Lockton is investing additional resources in the benefits business, with an initial focus on the UK and Asia. Tyler had joined Lockton in October 2012 and built the UK business from scratch, as well as successfully reorganizing the benefits business in Asia.
Before joining Lockton in 2012, Tyler had been Managing Director of the Health & Productivity division at Buck Consultants; Strategic Adviser and Interim FD at Life Trust; Chief Operating Officer and Worldwide Partner, Head of Health and Risk Consulting Practice, at Mercer Human Resource Consulting; Assistant General Manager at Crusader Insurance; Director of Underwriting at CIGNA; Deputy Manager – Actuarial Marketing at Victory Reinsurance; and began his career as a Trainee Actuary/Underwriter at Mercantile & General Reinsurance. He holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University College London and an MBA from The Open University.
